Top 10 Philips Norelco Electric Shaver Reviews

In this guide, we’re going to be listing off the ten best Norelco shavers on the market! I’ve meticulously tested each and every one of these products, and I firmly believe that they deserve their praise. However, it’s important to note that not everyone has the same needs. The best shaver for one person might be unsuitable for another, so read these reviews carefully, and choose your product with care!

Philips Norelco 8900 S8950/90

The 8900 is the Norelco’s best all-around model. This sleek rotary shaver can move its razor head in eight different directions and is equipped with self-sharpening V-track blades that work to maintain their cutting edge even after years of use. These blades are angled within the rotary head to ensure that it cuts the hair at a direction that minimizes skin irritation even as it goes for a closer shave. I enjoyed fast shaves with this model and attribute it to the make of their blades.

Philips Norelco 8900 S8950/90

I appreciated how the Norelco 8900 isn’t just capable of wet and dry use, but it’s also compatible with shaving gel or foam. This is rare, even with newer models, because most devices are still poorly equipped to shave with other soapy substances. It’s good news for people with sensitive skin because they can now buff their skin with gel or foam as they shave.

The Norelco 8900 is fully capable of taking care of itself. When you’re done with your shave, just plug it into its smart clean stand and it will start cleaning, lubricating, and drying the device. After it’s done, it transitions into charging mode. However, I also found that this device is still easy to clean without the cleaning station so if you’re traveling or if you’re in a rush, a quick rinse under running water will do the trick.

If you need additional styling options, this model comes with a clip-on beard styler with five length settings. While it does require the extra effort to clip on and off; trimming felt more natural and efficient.

You won’t need to worry about running out of battery with the 8900 because its display has a 3-tier battery indicator and it can charge back to full capacity in just one hour. If you travel a lot, it also has a travel lock function so you don’t accidentally turn it on while you’re on the move.

Overall, this is definitely one of the top Norelco models out there. It’s got a sleek and solid build, it’s lightweight, and it gives consistently close shaves even on low power. And best of all, if there are any unforeseen problems, it also comes with a full 2-year warranty.

Philips Norelco 5570 S5572/90

The strongest selling point of the Norelco 5570 is its turbo mode. You can go for super fast shaves, even on dense beards. It’s the ideal model for anyone who needs to shave on a daily basis because it fits seamlessly into your morning routine.

Philips Norelco 5570 S5572/90

One aspect of this device that I appreciated was how even on turbo mode, it ran relatively quieter compared to other models. If you’re sensitive to noise, this shaver knows how to keep the clamor at a minimum. This model has a slightly bulkier build compared to the 8900. However, it’s not too heavy for prolonged use and I found that it fits well in my hand.

The Norelco 5570’s shaver heads can flex in five different directions, and if you take a close look at the rotary blades you’ll see that they’re angled in a certain way. This is to help the individual blades cut through any amount of thickness with fewer swipes.

I tried out this product’s wet and dry use capabilities and noticed that this model seemed to work a bit better in the shower than with ordinary dry use. It still comes with the contested click-on trimmer; this could be attractive for people who want to have their trimmer positioned where the shaver is. It could also be a disadvantage for others who prefer the convenience of a built-in pop-up version. This model can provide sixty minutes of cordless shaving, which is a good runtime when you consider the average range of electric shavers run between 45 to 60 minutes.

One challenge I had with this razor was that it does not have a built-in display on the body to keep me updated on its battery status. It does not seem to have a fast-charge option either. Make sure that you find the time to charge it regularly so it doesn’t cut out while you’re in the middle of a session.

Generally, this model is suited for people with dense beards or people who want a fast shave, because it’s got a motor that’s about as powerful as a jet plane. It’s also one of the more affordable electric shavers out there. With all that said, I don’t think this would be the best Norelco shaver to take with you while you travel because it does not come with a travel lock or a travel case.

Philips Norelco 9700 S9721/84

I present to you, Norelco’s most aesthetic razor! The 9700 was a proud recipient of the iF Design Awards back in 2015 because of its bold and polished exterior.

Philips Norelco 9700 S9721/84

When it comes to performance, the 9700 doesn’t fall behind. It is equipped with a rotary shaver head that can sense the contours of your face and adjust itself preemptively. This contouring technology can flex in eight directions and helps guide the patented Norelco Precision blades through long, short, and even flat-lying hair strands.  The blades are also capable of self-sharpening, which helps maintain the performance of the shaver head and ensures that you keep your shaver sharp in the long run.

This model has a three-tiered speed setting. The slow setting is optimized for a skin-friendly shave and on most days, I find that it’s enough to get the job done. The medium setting is a bit more thorough and cuts slightly closer to the skin, which is what I use when I’ve let my beard grow out for a couple days. The fast setting is for a high-powered shave for dense beards and busy men.

Like the 8900, the 9700 comes with full wet-or-dry use capabilities. This means it can be used either dry or in the shower and it can also be used with shaving gel or foam.

The digital interface is just as well-designed as the rest of the shaver. It’s minimalistic, doesn’t take up too much space, and lights up in clear white indicators. There’s an icon for the battery level and indicators for cleaning, low battery power, replacement head requirements, and the travel lock.

This shaver comes with the trademark smart cleaning system of Norelco shavers. All you need to do is plug it in and it will automatically clean itself up. When it’s done, it switches straight into charging the device.

This product comes with a case that’s just as award-winning as its companion. It’s slightly contoured and has a built-in ventilation chamber in case you need to stow away a wet shaver when you’re traveling. The cleaning and charging stand is too big to carry around, but you can also just plug it in without the stand.

The 9700 can run for 60 minutes on a full charge and if you accidentally drain it completely, all it takes is 5 minutes to quick-charge for one session. This is definitely one of the pricier models on the list, but overall I would say that it’s worth the extra money. It’s beautiful, it has several smart tech features, and it packs some serious versatility!

Philips Norelco 4500 AT830/46

This one’s an oldie but a goodie. The Norelco 4500 may not have the same cutting-edge tech features as the later models, but it still knows how to deliver a good shave.

Philips Norelco 4500

If you take a close look at the rotary razor heads, you will notice that the blades have a series of alternating designs. There are groups of small holes, followed by a series of lines that run from the edge of the head to the center. This is the make of the old DualPrecision shaving system; the design was optimized to shave both long hair and short stubble with as little friction as possible.

The well-loved Aquatech Technology still remains. This electric razor can be used in the shower, with a shaving gel, or with foam. Make sure to rinse it off after every use so that the hair and other gunk won’t build up between shaves.

One more great thing about the 4500 is the pop-up trimmer, which has been a popular requirement for many users. It’s built behind the electric razor and flips up whenever you need it.

Since the cleaning and charging stations were only recently developed, you will have to set aside some time twice a month to give this model a thorough clean. Fortunately, it is packaged with a special brush just for this activity and cleaning the razor itself is fairly straightforward.

Take note that this device cannot be used while charging. But, if you do run out of battery, you can plug it in for a quick charge. Three minutes is all it takes for you to get enough power for one session.

You probably won’t need to worry about running out of battery unexpectedly, though. This device has a clear LED display, with indicators for when you need to charge your battery and for when it’s at full capacity. This helps you gauge how much power your electric razor has and also helps you avoid wearing out the battery by overcharging it.

The only issue I had with this device, isn’t really an issue. You see, it operates very quietly and it doesn’t vibrate very much. While these are normally good qualities in a razor, sometimes it’s so quiet I can’t even tell if it’s working or not!

Jokes aside, this is a good basic shaver for beginners. It covers all the starting features you need in an electric razor and it gets the job done efficiently.

Philips Norelco 6800, S6880/81, Series 6000

Itchy neck? Ingrown hairs? Irritated skin? Say goodbye to skin problems and say hello to the Philips Norelco 6800. The 6800 is, hands down, the best Norelco shaver if you have sensitive skin!

Philips Norelco 6800

First, let’s take a look at the build. The rotary shaver heads are surrounded by light blue rings. These are the ComfortGlide rings, and they’re covered with a special coating so that your skin is buffed even as you shave. Every rotary head is equipped with seventy-two self-sharpening blades that are backed by a series of markings. These markings have been shaped, cut, and angled to ensure that the blades cut as close to the root of the hair as possible without grazing your skin.

If those features still aren’t enough for you, this shaver can go into SkinGuard mode. This is similar to the lower speed settings on other electric razors except instead of merely adjusting the motor, it only adjusts the rotational speed of the blades.

This model can operate for one hour on a full charge and in case you accidentally drain your device completely, you can plug it in for a quick shave after five minutes of fast-charging. Also, the exteriors are built to be waterproof so you can use this razor in the shower. If you have sensitive skin, this is an advantage because warm water helps with reducing potential skin irritation.

When you order this product, it comes with a click-on precision trimmer. You will need to manually take off the razor head and clip the trimmer on. This has been a highly contentious feature because some have found that it helps them trim better, while others prefer the convenience of having the trimmer built in the device itself. In the end, it all boils down to a matter of personal preference.

One challenge I had with this model was that it was a bit harder to clean compared to other electric razors. Apart from the regular rinse-off after every use, the manual recommends that you perform a thorough disassembly of all the parts—where even the individual circular blades have to be taken apart and cleaned. It can be incredibly time-consuming and you will need to set aside the time to do this on a monthly basis.

Philips Norelco SW6700/91

The Force is certainly with the Norelco SW6700. If you have the extra cash to splurge on a loved one or for yourself, this is the perfect gift to give to the Star Wars fan in your life. It’s a geeky and attractive shaver that can provide an efficient shave.

Philips Norelco SW6700/91

The rotary heads can flex in eight different directions, so as you work, the shaver moves with you to help you make sure that you are covering as much area as possible in fewer swipes. I also found that the razor heads were spaced evenly apart and that these indentations helped cover my nose area, which is usually a tricky place to shave.

The Norelco SW6700 also comes with a Turbo Mode, which speeds up the shaving process significantly. It is a great feature to have for when you are in a rush and you need to get a good shave in before you start a day’s work. However, the Turbo mode may not be suitable for people with sensitive skin.

You can also use this model in the shower. Once you are done with shaving, this product comes with a separate trimmer head you can prop on for additional styling. The click-on trimmer has been a subject of controversy since some prefer their shavers with a built-in pop-up trimmer, but I think the click-on version is worth a try!

This cordless device can deliver sixty minutes’ worth of shaving on a full charge and you won’t have to worry about running out of battery halfway through a shave because of its bright LED display. The interface helps you monitor your shaver’s status with a five-level battery indicator and a separate low power indicator.

I appreciate how this product ran quieter than most products on this list. It’s also lightweight and you won’t have problems with using it for extended periods of time.

If you’re the kind of person who travels regularly, then the Norelco SW6700 can keep up with your busy lifestyle. It comes with a deluxe case to store your electric shaver securely. This case also has built-in ventilation chambers that work to dry your shaver even while you’re on the go.

Indulge your inner geek with this model. There are also three other Star War-themed electric razors, but I personally recommend this one because it has a lovely design, it fits better into your hand, and comes with the Turbo Mode.

Philips Norelco S9311/87 9300

Here is yet another recipient of the iF Design Award last 2015. But unlike the 9700, which was in solid black, this model boasts a matte grey design with silver highlights along the sides.

Philips Norelco S9311

The S9311’s rotary razor head can flex in eight different directions, which I found super helpful in getting full coverage over my entire face. The blades also self-sharpen so, in the long run, you won’t have to worry about constantly springing for replacements.

This product has three different comfort or speed settings. You can choose to go slow for a skin-friendly shave on days when you want to treat yourself. But if you’re getting ready for the day, the medium setting can deliver a standard shave. When you’re in a hurry and you need to get your face cleaned up stat, the fast setting can deliver a high-powered shave. This is a model that knows how to adapt to your lifestyle.

You can also use this electric shaver in the shower and with shaving gel or foam, but when you’re done, just be sure to give it a quick rinse under warm water or plug it into the smart cleaning and charging system. This helps ensure that on the surface, the razor remains well-maintained and hygienic.

One downside I found to the S9311 is that the retainers are fragile. Take extra care when using this razor and don’t press down on it too hard, because it may break the plastic retainers that hold the blades in place. With all that said, I would whole-heartedly recommend this product to anyone who wants a highly-stylish, highly-versatile electric shaver

Philips Norelco 3100 S3310/81

The Norelco 3100 is one of the more affordable electric shavers on this list. It’s one of the older models as well, but it is still capable of giving a consistent and reliable shave.

Philips Norelco 3100 S3310/81

One strong selling point of the Norelco 3100 is its corded and cordless functionality. This means that it can be used while it is charging, which is a huge plus for people who constantly forget to dedicate time to charging their shavers before they use it.

Another plus to the 3100 is the pop-up trimmer, which many faithful users of electric shavers prefer over the click-on counterpart in more recent shavers.

The 3100’s shaver heads have rounded edges. These help your shaver glide across your skin and minimize the risk of nicks and cuts. These heads can also flex independently of each other in four directions. It may not be the same as an 8-directional flex head, but it still gets the job done!

If you plan on using it cordless, the official description says that this model can run for forty-five minutes on a full charge. However, I found that it often went longer than that time period and that the quality of the shaves did not lessen as it ran out of battery.

The Norelco 3100 has a One-Touch Open function, which helps speed up the cleaning process. All you need to do is pop the heads open and give it a thorough rinse under running water to dislodge any hair strands and other foreign substances that may have stuck on the gears. However, you will still need to dismantle it and give it a thorough clean once every month to make sure that you get all the dirt out.

I would recommend this electric shaver to anyone on a budget who just wants a no-fuss model to get the job done. The 3100 is quiet, affordable, and one of Norelco’s most well-loved models!

Philips Norelco 2100 S1560/81

The Norelco 2100 is another good option for people who prefer the older Norelco models or for those who want a simple, no-frills electric shaver.

Philips Norelco 2100 S1560/81

Its rotary razor heads can flex in four different directions. This helps cover a decent amount of area as you work, especially across the jawline and around the neck. The blades are also self-sharpening which really makes a difference in the overall durability of the product.

This device is fully washable and comes with a One-Touch Open mechanism. This makes both regular and comprehensive maintenance much easier. You can give it a quick rinse and shake under running water when you’re done, and then you can pop the head open when you have the time for a deeper clean.

It also comes with a protection cap of its own, which makes it easy to travel with. This may be a step down from the travel cases and travel locks of the more recent Norelco shavers, but it’s a good compromise for the price.

Since it’s one of the earlier Norelco models, its trimmer is built-in at the back end. You can simply turn the device around, flip the trimmer up, and dive straight into styling and shaping your facial hair.

If there’s one thing I could change about this model, I would give it the capacity to run while charging. This device offers 35 minutes of cordless use after eight full hours of charging, which is not as impressive as the other devices on this list. However, even with that drawback, the affordability and performance of this product still make this one hell of a deal!

Overall, this is a simple, lightweight, and intuitive electric shaver. It may be old, but it’s a tried and tested entry-level product that I would still recommend to beginners and people on a budget.

Philips Norelco 1150X/46 6100

Don’t get confused—this model was formerly called the SensoTouch 2D 1150X/46. But it’s now called the Shaver 6100.

The 6100 is the ideal compromise between the old and the new. The razor heads can flex independently of one another in five different directions, which means you get more hair in fewer swipes.

Philips Norelco 1150X/46 6100

If you take a close look at the heads, you’ll see that it’s a combination of holes and slots. The slots are there to attack the longer hair strands, while the holes work on capturing stubble. Simultaneously, the blades are powered by a Lift And Cut system that lifts flat-lying hair so they’re cut clean off.

This model can run for 50 minutes on a full charge. If you’ve accidentally drained it just before you need to use it, there’s a 5-minute quick charge option as well.

While the 6100 does come with a charging and docking station, it does not have any cleaning capabilities. It’s there to help store your shaver in a secure area and charge it as needed.

I appreciated how the 6100 is built with a special non-slip grip. It makes this shaver the most amphibious out of all the models, so it’s definitely built for use in the shower.

This device also comes with the controversial click-on beard trimmer. The efficacy of a click-on trimmer compared to a pop-up is a matter of personal preference, but I did enjoy how it helped me get a straight line on my sideburns.

The 6100 is moderately priced and comes in a bright blue exterior. It’s the ideal choice for anybody who wants a Norelco with the original razor head design, but with some of the latest tech features as well.

What Makes Norelco Shavers Stand Out?

Norelco shavers have been industry leaders for the better part of a decade. They’ve come up with some of the most innovative designs, the top technologies, and the most efficient shavers. But what specifically is helping them to continue dominating the market? Here are just a few of the factors that make the Norelco name stand out.

What Makes Norelco Shavers Stand Out

  • New Developments With Each Series

There’s always something new to look forward to with every release. If you compare the earlier models to the newer ones, lots of changes have been implemented.

At face value, the designs have become slimmer and more compact. The colors are less varied and recent models tend to be monochromatic.

But beyond that, there are tons of new technologies that are being developed and incorporated with every new release. The cleaning and charging station, Personal Comfort System, and ActiveLift Technologies are only some of the latest innovations that improve on the performance of the Norelco shavers.

  • Different Shaving Systems Per Model

Each series comes with a different razor head system to look out for. There’s GentlePrecision, CloseCut, MultiPrecision, and more. They all find different ways to deliver a good shave, depending on your needs and personal preferences.

All these shaving systems specialize in different areas. GentlePrecision is optimized for people with sensitive skin. CloseCut is for people who are looking for clean shaves on a daily basis. And MultiPrecision targets flat-lying hair. With such a multitude of systems, there’s a Norelco shaver out there for almost everyone!

  • Wet And Dry Shaving Capabilities

Almost all Norelco shavers are waterproof. They can be used in the shower and can be washed thoroughly with water. This is to cater to a segment of the market that prefers wet shaving. The design of this is no easy feat! Every waterproof model must have an airtight build to protect the machinery inside, especially around the razor head area.

  • Flexible Pivot Heads For Thorough Shaves

All Norelco razor heads can flex independently of one another. While this may seem like an ordinary feature for foil shavers, pulling this feature off on a rotary shaver can be tricky. The manufacturer has to consider spacing, coordination, and design.

  • Automated Cleaning With The SmartClean Dock

A stand that can clean and charge your device for you? Norelco made it possible! The latest Norelco electric razors can now clean and maintain themselves with the SmartClean Docking station. All you need is to set the station up, load it up with the cartridges, and plug your razor in. With a push of a button, the device will clean, lubricate, and dry your electric razor.

  • SmartClick Precision Trimmer For Better Styling

The SmartClick Trimmer has been a hot topic ever since its release. Some appreciate the precision that a click-on trimmer gives them. Others prefer the convenience of built-in pop-up trimmers. At the end of the day, it’s all a matter of personal preference, and fortunately, there are plenty of Norelco models with either version to cater to both preferences.

  • A Variety Of Accessories For More Styling Options

Trimmers aren’t the only accessories that come with Norelco shavers. Some models have other click-on attachments, such as the 3600’s click-on Stubble Guard.

  • Fully Washable Body For Hands-On Cleaning

This is one feature I really appreciated. Giving you Norelco electric shaver a deep clean is a lot easier when you don’t have to worry about water messing up the insides. You can simply give it a thorough rinse under running water to remove surface hair and dirt before you start manually cleaning it

  • Powered By Durable Lithium-Ion Battery

A strong battery is one of the basic requirements for an electric shaver. After all, it’s a hassle to have to keep it plugged in and sometimes you can’t help but forget. All Norelco shavers come with powerful Lithium-Ion batteries and depending on the model, it can run for as long as 35 minutes to an hour. The more recent devices also have fast shave options in case you accidentally drain your device.

  • Secured With A Travel Case

Do you travel around a lot? Norelco shavers can keep up with you. Most of the models come with a travel case and a power cord of their own so you can easily stow it away while you’re on the go. The more upscale models come with a Travel Lock technology which keeps the shaver powered down for the trip.

Making The Most Out Of A Norelco Shaver

There are tons of Philips Norelco shavers out there. However, before you can decide on the perfect model for you, you will need to have a solid grasp of the basics. Here are some top tips for getting the best shave out of a Norelco shaver.

Making The Most Out Of A Norelco Shaver

  • Give Your Skin Time To Adjust

Give Your Skin Time To Adjust

Your skin usually needs time to get used to a new razor. This adjustment period can last anywhere between a few days to three weeks—during this time your skin may get easily irritated. If you want your skin to adjust quicker, do your part in caring for your skin before and after shaving by exfoliating and moisturizing.

  • Trim Long Facial Hair Beforehand

Trim Long Facial Hair Beforehand

Electric razors may have difficulty shaving long hair properly. Longer hair tends to snag and pull, both of which may lead to skin irritation. If you’ve skipped on shaving for a couple of days, give everything a short trim before getting into shaving. This protects your skin and your razor, and also drastically reduces shaving time.

Some Norelco electric shavers come with trimming attachments that you can use on your beard. Otherwise, you can just use your normal beard trimmer.

  • Shave Gently

Opt To Go Dry

While shaving, it’s important to keep a light hand. Don’t push your device too hard against your face! This could seriously irritate your skin and lead to an increased risk of nicks and cuts.

You only need to gently apply pressure, just enough that the razor is lightly resting against your skin, but not so much that it is pressing into it.

  • Try Using Gel Or Foam

Shaving gels or foams can really help you get a smoother, cleaner shave—and it’s especially helpful if you have sensitive skin! If you’ve never attempted a wet shave with an electric razor before, here are some quick steps to help you through:

Try Using Gel Or Foam-Start Shaving

Wash Your Face

Don’t skip this step! This removes all the oil and dirt that may have built up on your face and it buffs the skin for shaving.

Apply Shaving Gel Or Foam

Lather on your preferred shaving cream evenly. Make sure it covers all the parts of your beard.

Start Shaving

Begin shaving by moving your Norelco shaver in circular motions over your skin. Easy!

  • Opt To Go Dry

Dry shaving can be just as effective as wet shaving if it’s done right. Although there are some general rules you need to follow to get the most out of your session.

Opt To Go Dry

Wash Your Face

This step is doubly important in dry shaving because the oil and dirt on your skin are in close proximity to the razor blades.

Leave It To Dry

Give your face at least fifteen minutes to dry completely before moving on to the next step.

Start Shaving

Start your session by moving your device across your skin in gentle circular movements. Simple enough, right?

Where It All Began

To understand Norelco, you have to understand Phillips.

Philips began manufacturing their shavers in 1939 but only started selling in the United States in 1948. However, they were unable to market them under their name in the US because the brand name was too similar to Philco, which was a manufacturer of batteries and other battery accessories.

Where It All Began

As a result, Philips marketed their electric shavers under the Norelco name, which stands for North American Philips Electrical Company. They continued to use this name for their electric shavers and it stuck. In 1974, when the Phillips purchased The Magnavox Company, Philips relabeled its US consumer electronics products but retained the Norelco label for the rest of its devices.

In 2005, Philips started co-branding their shavers and the Philips Norelco line of products that we are familiar with emerged.

Today, the Philips Norelco brand is a huge name in the electric shaving industry. They’ve produced a variety of different shavers to cater to different audiences and they’ve developed tons of new technologies to help make shaving a more pleasant experience. Long live Norelco!

Maintaining Your Norelco Shaver

You may need to consult the manual for this concern, because not all Norelco shavers are created equal. Your model may need to follow additional procedures.

Maintaining Your Norelco Shaver

However, the general rules are that you always take the time to rinse out the shaver heads after every use. Once a month, you need to set aside some time to dismantle the device and clean the insides out thoroughly.

If your electric shaver has the One Touch Open function, press the release button to pop open the shaver head and then rinse it under running tap water.

If you have a Smart Cleaning and Charging Station, you can space out the time between deep cleaning a bit more—but you still need to do it at least once every two months to ensure that your device is in top shape.

If your shaver has an attachment, like the click-on beard stylers, pull them off of your shaver and rinse them down with warm water. Once they are thoroughly cleaned and dried out, you can reassemble them.

Frequently Asked Questions

Norelco has a wide range of products, and it can often be difficult to find the information you need. In this section we’re going to cover the five most frequently asked questions potential customers have about Norelco shavers.

I have sensitive skin! Can I still use a Norelco shaver?
Yes. Norelco shavers often come with a variety of speed settings. This way, you can choose which pace best suits your skin and then adjust accordingly once you get used to shaving. All Norelco devices also come with sharpened blades and effective skin guards—these two are important because they make sure that the shaver cuts your hair instead of merely pulling at it, and that you don’t accidentally injure yourself by pushing the device too hard against your skin. For those with skin issues, I would recommend getting the 6800 because it’s designed to work with sensitive skin.

Can a Philips Norelco shaver be used as a head shaver?
Yes—but you’ll have to choose the right model. Different Norelco shavers are often optimized for different areas of your body. For head hair, I would recommend looking for a model with slightly stronger speed settings and the capacity to handle thick patches of hair. You shouldn’t have much of a problem looking for head shavers because they’re usually well-advertised if they’re capable of taking on the challenge.

When should I change the shaver blades?
Philips Norelco recommends that you switch out the shaver blades for new ones every twelve months. This helps maintain the performance and prolong the lifespan of your shaver. Dull blades will often force the motor to work twice as hard to finish a good shave. Dull blades can also cause injuries and skin irritation, so make sure to mark your calendars so you don’t forget to switch them out!

Are Norelco shavers built to handle universal voltage?
Yes, most of them are equipped to handle universal voltage, especially if they are the newer models. You may have to double-check the product specifications beforehand to see if the shaver is capable.

Can I use a Norelco shaver on my pubic area?
With the right model, yes. For the pubic area, it’s important to find a device with a small shaver head, adequate skin guard attachments, and at least two speed settings for you to choose from. This is so that you can maneuver around the area efficiently without the risk of injuring yourself. Keep in mind that not all models are suitable for such a sensitive area.

Conclusion

As long as you buy Norelco, you can be sure that you’re getting your money’s worth! Although different shavers might be suited for different uses; if you need a razor, shaver, or trimmer of any kind, there’s a Norelco shaver out there for you.

This guide was made to help illustrate how well Norelco shavers perform and how varied their devices can be. I hope that, at the very least, it has helped point you in the right direction.
