Hairstyling is tough, no matter how you look at it. So much so that many of the “Professional Hair Salons” often struggle with giving your bouncy locks the perfect shapes they deserve. Imagine doing it at home. Yeah, I feel you! Hair blowout without the perfect machine is like cleaning messy room we have.

The Journey of BaBylissPRO
When we speak of a brand that’s been consistently delivering quality for decades, naturally we set our expectations pretty high. BaBylissPro is a name that meets those standards and exceeds them to quite some extent.
You might ask me, “Why is this brand so celebrated?” The answer is simple, “Experience” and “Consistency.” These guys are anything but new in the game of electrical hairdressing products. They’ve been at it for 50 years and it’s safe to say that they know what they’re doing.
BaBylissPro focuses on coming up with innovative electrical products. But their goal expands towards inspiring creativity in hair styling worldwide. In modern times, their devices are used by professional stylists who focus on achieving the “Must Have” looks for young, adults, and the old.
The first stepping stone of their journey resided in Paris, around the 1960s. Lelievre was the pioneer who started it all. With his expertise, he improved the first-ever curling tong built for hairstylists.
With his rigorous efforts in marketing & distributing, these innovations reached both professionals and the public in general. With time Lelievre’s empire expanded throughout Europe. Little by little the brand identity formed over the years.
Then again, if we look into the acquisition history, Conair Corporation acquired Babyliss in 1995. But they still continued as the leading manufacturers of high-end professional appliances. The birth of BaBylissPro took place after that and the prestige brand expanded worldwide.
Superior professional styling tools of European quality merged with the Australian styling culture in 1998. With the launch in Australia, stylists became more prone to use Hair Dryers, Straighteners, Curling Tongs, Hot Rollers, and so on.
BaBylissPro challenges all limitations when it comes to styling possibilities. With a creative vision in mind, these guys keep bringing innovations to quality hair products in both Electrical Styling and Hair Care ranges.
BaByliss Hair Dryer Reviews – Products that I Used in the Past
Let’s be realistic, when we consider buying a product for ourselves, looks are the first thing we perceive. Yes, for a product like a hairdryer… many of us don’t consider aesthetics to be a primary concern. But the BaBylissPRO Nano Titanium Hair Dryer doesn’t fall short even if you do judge a book by its cover.
This hair dryer has a unique design. I’d describe it with one word: “Sleek.” The ergonomic shape of the handle makes it pretty easy to hold. I really liked how the guys at BaBylissPro balanced out the weight. Two pounds isn’t really what you’d call heavy. As a matter of fact, the device is very easy on the wrists.
This Nano Titanium Hairdryer does actually spell out what kind of ionic technology it uses. The implication of technology helps hair dry faster with minimal frizz. Not only that, but it also makes the drying process faster.
I believe you’ll find the even heat dissipation that this dryer can pull off quite satisfying. This is way beyond what I’d expect in an average hairdryer. BaBylissPro carefully crafted this wonder of a device to be easy on the hair. Minimal damage is something we all want, right?
Most people are curious about compatibility quite a bit. But let me assure you, this awesome little device has been crafted for all hair types. Even if your hair is thick and coarse, it should do the job just fine (Provided you use the right settings).
Speaking of settings, I was quite pleased to see that this nano titanium hair dryer features 6 heat/speed settings. Throwing in the concentrator nozzle was a smart move from BaBylissPRO as it unlocks more stylizing options. Plus, the cool shot button ensures that your specific style stays in place.
This dryer is very much capable of keeping your hair healthy and shiny. But there are obviously other things to consider. Yes, you’re right, I’m talking about the power consumption. Keeping the performance in mind, this dryer has 2000-watt power output. But that’s pretty normal for heavy-duty dryers.
Let’s not skip the features that make the dryer easy to use. First of all, I have to tell you about the cable length. The cable that comes with this one measures up around 8 feet. You won’t find any problems connecting it to a far-off outlet in the room.
Another handy addition is the removable filter. It makes cleaning and maintenance quite easy. Apart from cleaning efficiency, adding the filter increases the longevity of the device to great extents. Covering all important aspects and still offering a great value makes this one a great choice nevertheless.
As the name suggests, the BAB2000 Ceramix Xtreme Dryer is a full-blown heavy-duty dryer with the power consumption of 2000W. That’s a mouthful if not overwhelming, I know. Rest assured, this wonder of a device has got a lot more to offer than just a heavy toll on your bills.
BaBylissPro took the liberty to be a bit extra caring towards the comfort factor for the users. Just look at the handle! It has a very nice textured, rubberized housing. This might seem a bit trivial but trust me, it’s a small piece of the puzzle that comes together to build the artistic form factor of the BAB2000.
Having a rubberized grip along with a reasonable weight margin, you won’t be facing any type of problem handling the dryer. Let alone putting a strain on your wrists. Speaking of being gentle, this device is pretty soft on the hair as well. Unlike the usual dryers, it doesn’t cause too much damage.
The secret to the safety of the hair lies behind the implementation of ceramic technology. Plus, the far-infrared heat also plays a vital role in protecting the hair strands from extra damage. The heat output is fairly balanced and provides even heat distribution all the way.
The narrow barrel, or rather I should say… the concentrator nozzle helps to maximize the extreme air pressure. The pro-grade AC motor used in this one makes for long hours of use. Which is great for salon usage.
Let me assure you, working with different hair types won’t be a concern at all. The 2000W dryer is able to deal with any type of hair ranging from thick, coarse, thin, curly, and so on. No matter how difficult you think your hair is to deal with, this baby can take it all.
Looking into user convenience, the guys at BaBylissPro added a 9-foot, professional-grade cord for better maneuverability. The narrow concentrator nozzle is also included with the package. Be it straight hair or wavy locks, adding this nozzle to the dryer allows you to manage them all.
I really liked that they didn’t forget about adding a removable filter. It makes cleaning and maintenance seem effortless. It also adds to the longevity of the product. To sum it all up, it would be unjust to say that this one isn’t one of the best BaByliss hair dryers ever made.
The name of the product is a dead giveaway on what technology is used in this particular dryer. But we’ll get into that later. Let’s focus on what the first impressions are. Yes, I’m getting at the general build and design. Without further delay, let’s see what this dryer is made of.
If hairstyling is a regular thing for you, then you’re probably very familiar with hand fatigue. It’s something we all want to avoid, yet have to go through each day. To make the day a bit brighter, the BaBylissPRO Tourmaline Titanium 3000 is pretty lightweight and comes with an ergonomic handle.
The handle not only offers a strong grip but makes maneuvering the dryer around the head a lot easier. The soft-touch rubberized finish is a big plus! Especially when it comes to having a comfortable anti-slip grip. Apart from that the build quality is pretty solid and doesn’t look shabby at all.
Unlike the BaBylissPRO BAB2000 Ceramix Xtreme Dryer, this one uses the Tourmaline Titanium technology. By emitting millions of ions, it offers a healthier and more natural shine. They even included the far-infrared heat technology that ensures better styling without the cost of hair damage.
Far-infrared heat & ionic technology combined together promise faster hair drying. I always vouch for features that save time. Many of us really don’t have the luxury to go about an hour just to style our hair each morning. I also liked the technology for releasing natural ions that fight against static and frizz.
Yes. I know the question has been tickling your brain for quite some time now. “How much power does it consume.” Well, it certainly isn’t a deal-breaker. A matter of fact, in contrast with the BaBylissPRO Nano Titanium Hair Dryer, it actually has the power output of 1900W instead of 2000W.
Don’t worry, it won’t really break the bank.
Being a heavy-duty hair dryer, it’s very much capable of handling all sorts of hair types. Even if your hair is thick and coarse, it should get the job done just fine. Just like the previous one that we discussed; this model is also equipped with 6 heat/speed settings.
Let’s not forget the “Cool Shot” button. This little feature really helps in making the styles last quite a while. The concentrator nozzle has been added too. Just in case you want to get serious with the aesthetics of your hair.
The removable filter/stand really helps out in cleaning the dryer every once in a while. I don’t particularly like scraping for dust and grime. This little addition reduces the hassle of maintenance to great extents.
Oh… and lastly, I should tell you, there might be a little burning smell that will seem to come out of the dryer while using it. It probably isn’t anything actually burning. It’s just the inner components heating up. But still, it doesn’t hurt to be cautious.
Let us jump off from Tourmaline tech to yet another Ceramic hairdryer. Introducing… the BaBylissPRO BP6685 Porcelain Ceramic Carrera 2. This one here is designed to make an impression and it doesn’t fail to do so. With a lucrative design, this dryer is loaded with features that matter the most.
Following the trend, BaBylissPRO included the rubberized housing in the handle of this device as well. Even though the design differs in some aspects with the BaBylissPRO Tourmaline Titanium 3000 Dryer, it offers nothing less in the field of comfort. With a solid design and non-slip grip, it doesn’t fail to impress.
But design and build aren’t all that it’s limited to. This too has 6 heat and speed settings that stylists can actually use while dealing with a variety of hair types. BaBylissPRO seems to have included the cold shot button in all of the good ones. The BP6685 Porcelain Ceramic Carrera is not an exception either.
This dryer is surprisingly gentle on the hair. I’ve gone through various customer responses and none of them actually claimed that this one has scorched or damaged the hair in any way. Plus, it did leave a good reputation among those who want a bit of in-depth styling for their hair.
Let’s talk a bit about the numbers. The power supply voltage is a bit off from what you’d expect. The voltage isn’t AC 120V or 240V, it’s actually 125V. Not that it’ll be an issue. I just want to keep you well informed. As for the basic power consumption, it’s a basic heavy-duty 1900W dryer.
But keep note, there’s a 2800W variant of the model. Being more power-hungry, it also weighs 25% more. I don’t think the extra wattage can make too much of a difference as this version is good enough for dealing with thick and curly hair too.
Just like the BAB2000 Ceramix Xtreme Dryer, this model uses ceramic technology (duh). It generates negative ions to break apart water molecules. Leaving the hair shiny, silky, and more manageable. All within a less amount of time.
Personally, I thought that the extended narrow barrel was a smart move by BaBylissPRO. Utilizing the AC motor, it concentrates and maximizes the air pressure. You’ll have greater flexibility to work with as well. Even if you’re opting for long hours of use, there shouldn’t be any issues at all.
I’ve seen tools that have cords that are way too short. On the contrary, the BP6685 Porcelain Ceramic Carrera 2 comes with a 9 feet cord. It should be long enough to connect easily with any far-off outlet of the room. I believe this was the cherry on top for this already perfected dryer.
It looks like we’ve come to the last product in my list of best BaByliss hair dryers. So, what say you? Let’s finish this off with something rather interesting. This one here is a tourmaline hair dryer that runs on an AC motor. This makes the Nano Titanium Portofino unique work of art.
When I say “Work of Art,” I do mean the aesthetics as well. The dryer itself looks very modern and the style sort of leans towards a sci-fi laser gun. If you’re into that kind of aesthetics then you’ll be hitting two birds with one stone. Optimal performance paired with a sleek appearance.
Let’s head towards the performance part. The inclusion of an AC motor basically means that it can run for longer periods of time. You’ll get that along with super-fast drying without the frizz. This bit is ensured by the tourmaline technology. Which is quite similar to the Tourmaline Titanium 3000.
The Ionic Technology ensures gentle and evenly distributed heat. This prevents hair damage to quite some extent. This is really great for all hair types (Including thick & coarse hair). To top it off, this dryer helps to keep the hair healthy and shiny.
The 6 heat and speed setting feature might have lost its charm by now, but it’s included in this one nevertheless. If that isn’t enough for your stylizing demands then you’ll be glad to know that the package comes with two distinct concentrator nozzles.
The removable stainless-steel rear filter/stand is a great addition who take maintenance duty seriously. I would have preferred a diffuser along with the package. But you can always buy it separately if needed.
It really doesn’t matter if you have thick or coarse hair. This baby here can handle it with ease. There haven’t been any bad reports about thin and fine hair either. All you have to do is, use the dryer in the right settings and you should be good to go.
The BaBylissPRO Nano Titanium Portofino has a power cord with a length of more than 8 feet. This means you won’t fall short of wire length while going about stylizing your hair in any area of the room.
Speaking of power, this dryer consumes 2000W of power and you can use it in the USA (120v) without an adapter.
Why Did I End Up Choosing BaByliss Pro As A Brand?
You might have a heap of questions regarding why I ended up dedicating an entire article to the brand, don’t you? I mean, there has to be something extra beyond just the brand reputation, right? Of course, there is (I should say “Are” as the benefits are many)! Let’s go over some of the key elements of the tools in this section.
Wattage Was My Primary Concern
BaBylissPRO takes pride in making every aspect count. Making a device super-efficient often comes at a price. Yes, power consumption is often the toll for optimal gains. This is usually the case for the heavy-duty options.
Let’s take the BaBylissPRO BAB2000 Ceramix Xtreme Dryer for example. This one runs at 2000 Watts. You might think that this kind of power consumption can get really heavy on your wallet “But” as I have mentioned before, it can very well take up thick, coarse, thin, or curly hair.
The motor that’s used basically defines the limit for power consumption. If you remember the last product that we covered, the Portofino Full-Size Dryer, it uses a 2000-watt Italian AC motor. Obviously, it falls into the category of the peak performers (Unlike the less power-hungry counterparts).
You’ll find a number of BaBylissPro dryers out there that offer less with less power consumption. I personally won’t go for those. The best list that I created is all heavy-duty dryers. Why settle for less when you can opt for more? I mean, these don’t demand something outrageous like 3000W, right?
A Good Design Can Go a Long Way
You might’ve noticed, all five of my selected BaBylissPro dryers are well designed. Not only are they aesthetically pleasing, but they offer ergonomic features.
Take the BaBylissPRO BP6685 Porcelain Ceramic Carrera 2 Dryer for example. They focused on the handle and the grip more than your basic dryer. The soft rubberized housing is specially designed to make things easier on the wrist. You’ll notice that a firm grip helps to deal with the overall heft too.
The same benefit is offered by the BaBylissPRO Tourmaline Titanium 3000 Dryer. However, the rubberized grip isn’t a luxury that you’ll get with every one of these devices. For example, The BaBylissPRO Nano Titanium Hair Dryer’s handle isn’t rubberized.
Is that a bad thing?
Well, no. The basic equation is, you get what you pay for and every hairdryer won’t keep the design and comfort as their top priority. Don’t get too disheartened, rubberized grip or not, practically every one of these dryers focuses on the handgrip experience. It won’t be too straining on your wrist in any way.
These Are Hair Dryers, not Dumbbells
I bet you’ve gone through a lot of products that offer everything just right, except for the weight. If a hair care device becomes too heavy, you have to ask: “Is it really worthwhile?” Having to strain your wrists and biceps just to get your morning hair done doesn’t sound too good now does it?
Keep in mind, most heavy-duty dryers are heavy on the hands. Just make sure that it doesn’t get too heavy. I wouldn’t bat an eye if the weight is around 1.8lbs or 2lbs. But once it gets doubled, you might want to reconsider your purchase.
The weight isn’t just a number. I’d put it within the sphere of general efficiency. Oh, and one more thing, look for the driers that have an evenly distributed weight. BaBylisPRO hair dryers are usually well balanced. But it doesn’t hurt to doublecheck.
A Variety of Settings are Always Welcome
If you’re someone who prefers a bit of variety while stylizing your hair, then you might want to have a few extra speed and heat settings up your sleeve. I think you’ve noticed that when it comes to the very best that BaBylissPro has to offer, six separate heat and speed settings are the norm.
The variety in the settings makes sure that no matter the hair type, you’ll get proper stylizing experience each time. I mean, suppose you lent someone your blow dryer to your friend. There’s no point in doing that if they can’t adjust the settings to their needs.
The Cool Shot Button is a Must Have Feature
After going through the individual products, you’ve got the general idea about how the cool shot button works. A burst of cold air can really help in keeping your styles intact. I really can’t pick favorites here as all of them have a dedicated cool shot button. But hey, this much is expected from BaBylissPRO.
Advanced Technologies for Advanced Stylizing
Look at the BaBylissPRO Nano Titanium Portofino for example. This lightweight full-sized hairdryer uses Nano Titanium Ionic Technology. BaBylissPRO implemented this feature to offer faster drying with less frizz. Checking the technology used in a dryer can really help out.
On the other hand, we have dryers like the BaBylissPRO Tourmaline Titanium 3000. With the use of the Tourmaline Titanium technology, it emits millions of ions for an outstanding shiny look. Plus, it offers way faster drying than normal that goes easy on the hair at the same time.
Dryers like the BAB2000 Ceramix Xtreme Dryer use something pretty basic like the ceramic technology. This technology makes sure that the heat is evenly distributed along the hairlines. The negative ions are there to reduce any chance of static electricity.
Each technological advantage can come in handy depending on which aspect you want your dryer to excel on. You won’t fall short with either in any case.
Let’s Put an End to This Discussion
Oh, you’re already here finishing my article on best Babylisspro hair dryer reviews? Congrats are in order! Although it might seem like a broken record on eternal loop, there’s no mistaking that the guys are at the top of their game. They know what they’re doing in terms of haircare.
Each and every product reflects the professionalism that we expect. Even then, people have their favorites in the brand. I, for example, prefer the Nano Titanium (Full-Size) version AND the Tourmaline one. If you’re into aesthetics along with care, go for Porcelain one.
No matter what you end up choosing, you’re always getting the long-end of the stick with the brand. One just doesn’t go wrong. Take some time to read the entire piece and choose a tool for yourselves. Do let me know how the purchase and the haircare experience were for you with the brand.
